Our Chickens
Our chickens are dual purpose egg and meat chickens. Chickens are free-range, supplemented with natural locally milled mash and fresh garden scraps. Most of our chickens have names and all of them are treated like family. We believe in providing the most natural, healthy way of life, no matter what their purpose.

Eggs are collected daily. Hens are provided a clean, warm nest box, but some choose to lay wherever they are comfortable.. and that's ok with us.
Eggs are available 24/7 at our honor box road-side stand. $4/doz

We have a multitude of heritage and mixed breeds. The base of our meat is the Freedom Ranger Breed.
"Meaties" (as we call them) are allowed access to fresh grass and open air. They are restricted to a 20x30 yard, but never a tiny cage. They are fed locally milled meatbird mash, fresh snacks, and all the bugs they can catch.

While we do use an incubator, we encourage the natural broody nature of some of our ladies. If they want to hatch babies, we let them. We provide them with a separate area to safely hatch their young. Once the chicks are old enough, they are transitioned back to the main coop to learn how to hunt bugs and dig in dirt.
